and this one,
Overall, I like the message the producer of the videos is trying to make. There is a LOT of garbage out there regarding knife and edged weapons defence. I am not so sure about one or two of his points but overall, I found the videos to be very interesting and thought provoking.
What are your thoughts?
Great vids. I'd never seen the second one before.
ReplyDeleteOne could talk all day about good and bad knife defence, but
1) a vid is worth a thousand words: the vids posted kind of give a more realistic picture
2) in the end, "the answer is in training" as Musashi said, and what you need to know is how to train:
RedZone - Jerry Wetzel
STAB - Karl Tanswell
Die Less Often - Marc Denny

ReplyDeleteKnowing how to defend yourself against a knife attack can help you survive, but I agree when Joe Rogan said that knife attacks try to catch you by surprise and these attackers usually don't strike in the same way.
ReplyDeleteI think the best defense against surprise knife attacks is being aware of the environment and great evasion.
ReplyDeleteyes agree with joe and kershaw -- being constantly aware of your surroundings and prepared to flee if something happens are the two best defenses that you could have.
